He owns and operates DTB Distributors, Inc., one of Ohio's largest privately owned Jan/San businesses with three locations serving three states.

He attributes his success to his faith in God and his loving wife, Jacqueline Funk.

As Director of Key Technologies he oversaw advances in space power and propulsion, materials science, launch vehicles and weapons effects/countermeasures. In the late 80's he created a partnership between us scientists and their counterparts in the Soviet Union in developing space nuclear reactors; this was the first cooperation in high tech between the US and Russia during and following the days of the Soviet Union.

Subsequently in the State Department he pursued "Defense Comission", matching up US companies with their equivalents in the former Soviet Republics to assist in "Converting" their industries into commercial production.

After retiring from Federal Service in 1993, Mr Vega worked as a business development consultant representing a number of US and European companies wishing to establish commercial activities in the ex-Soviet Republics.

Mr. Vega returned to Ohio in 2001; he stayed as a technology consultant to the Air Force Research Laboratory, and was appointed to the Harveysburg Village Council in 2002. He was elected to that position in 2003; he was elected mayor in 2007 and reelected to that office in 2011.
